Corrections and continuity

This is the most useful mail we get. If a chapter contradicts an earlier one, or a name, date, age or place is wrong, send the serial, the chapter number, and the sentence you noticed. You do not need to explain what the right answer is — pointing at the problem is enough.

Published chapters are corrected in place. Where a fix changes what happens in the story rather than how it reads, we say so on the chapter itself. How that fits into the wider process is on the editorial process page.

Reporting something worse than an error

If a chapter contains something that should not be there — content that is genuinely offensive, or material that appears to be lifted from somewhere else — say so directly and it will be looked at ahead of anything else in the inbox.

Rights and permissions

Ask before republishing. Quoting a paragraph with a link back needs no permission and is welcome. Republishing whole chapters, mirroring the site, or using its contents to train a model is not permitted — see the terms.

Your account

You can change your details or delete your account yourself from the account page, and deletion is immediate. Write to us only if you cannot get into the account, or would rather a person did it.

Advertising

Same address. Tell us what you are placing and where.

What we cannot help with

We do not take story submissions, and we do not give notes on other people's manuscripts. We cannot take requests for what happens next in a serial — the seasons are planned to an ending before the first chapter is written.

Response time

Mail is read by a person, not a queue, so it is not instant. Corrections are acted on fastest because they are the easiest to verify.
