The devastated dad of four children who were fatally poisoned by their mother and grandmother has spoken out about the “spiteful act” as authorities reveal disturbing new details.

The bodies of Harper Harmon, 13, Hudson Harmon, 11, and 10-year-old twins Gavin and Gracelynn Harmon wereon June 23. The childrens’ mother, Sarah Myers, 44, and grandmother Amy Steadman, 64, were also found dead inside the home.

Officers initially for the deaths, upon discovering a handwritten note and different medications stowed in her apartment. But on Tuesday,  before they took their own lives.

Mechanicville, New York, Police Department Chief William Rabbitt told reporters that the mother and daughter, who lived in the same apartment building, had been planning the murders as far back as June 5.

Authorities say Myers and Steadman poisoned the children using a cocktail of drugs. 10-year-old Gavin was also stabbed with a knife.

Chief Rabbitt said that during the investigation, authorities uncovered texts indicating that the alleged murder suicide took place on June 10, as messages showed Steadman and Myers discussing steps of how to give the kids the medications.

Investigators also found a message from Gracelynn who was suffering from severe stomach pain and asked her mother and grandmother for help.

Devastated dad speaks out

The children’s father, Brady Harmon, had been set to spend the summer with them and was scheduled to pick them up for a court-approved 60-day visit before they were kiled.

“I cannot understand what would go through those sick, sadistic, twisted minds to carry out this horrendous, spiteful act on harming my children because I have access to them for 60 days,” Harmon told.

“You stab Gavin. Gracelynn is trying to communicate and say, ‘I need help,’ and you guys give them nothing. Just more pain. More fear. That’s a father’s worst fear.” the heartbroken father added. Harmon last spoke to his children via FaceTime on June 7, when he noted they appeared happy.

He attempted to contact Myers again later that day, but she told him the children were sick and he could speak to them the next day. However, Harmon never heard from his children again.

Investigators uncover disturbing messages and online searches

Their bodies were discovered in the apartment on June 23 after a neighbor requested a welfare check after noticing suspicious odors. Text messages indicate that Myers and Steadman plotted to poison the children between 10:30 am and noon on June 10, according to investigators.

However, authorities said that when the children did not die as quickly as they expected, one of the women sent a horrifying message that read, “It’s not working, we need another option.”

Police also recovered disturbing searches from Steadman’s phone, including queries about medication reactions and the effects of insulin on non-diabetics. Chilling searches made later included, “Where’s the most fatal place to be stabbed” and “Find the carotid artery in the neck.”

After she became ill, 10-year-old Gracelynn sent a heartbreaking message that read, “Why would you do that? You both won’t let me puke.”

Steadman then sent another message to Myers, writing, “Gracie is aware.”

“Those communications are important because they document far more than planning. They show that Steadman and Myers were communicating and coordinating while the murders were taking place,” the chief told reporters.

Investigators discovered handwritten notes from Steadman and Myers where they indicated they did the killings because they wanted to keep the children safe from Harmon, who they accused of abuse.

Authorities have not been able to verify the abuse claims and Harmon has denied the allegations. He branded Myers a “narcissist,” adding: “I didn’t do anything.”
