Ted Lieu TORCHES Pam Bondi After CAUGHT LYING Under Oath — One Exchange Suddenly Changes Everything

Ted Lieu TORCHES Pam Bondi After CAUGHT LYING Under Oath — One Exchange Suddenly Changes Everything.

The Evidence of the Eyes: Ted Lieu and the Redaction Trap

The House Judiciary Committee has become a theater of forensic precision, but few moments have matched the high-velocity confrontation that unfolded this week between Representative Ted Lieu (D-CA) and Attorney General Pam Bondi. In a meticulously prepared exchange, Lieu—a former military prosecutor—used the Department of Justice’s own redaction choices to spring a legal trap, leading to a volatile outburst from Bondi that legal analysts suggest marks a turning point in the Epstein oversight hearings.

The Photograph Paradox

Lieu began his questioning with a pair of enlarged photographs featuring Prince Andrew alongside a young woman. The images were sourced from the recently released “Epstein Files,” but with a critical distinction: the woman’s face had been redacted by the Department of Justice.

“Under the law Congress passed, you were allowed to redact photos to protect the victims of Epstein’s sex trafficking operation,” Lieu noted with practiced flatness. He then forced Bondi to confirm on the record that the redaction was performed specifically to comply with those victim-protection mandates.

With that single “Yes,” the trap was set. By confirming the redaction was for a victim, Bondi effectively admitted under oath that the Department of Justice recognizes the individual in the photo as a federally protected sex trafficking victim. Lieu immediately pivoted, noting that if the woman is a confirmed victim, the man she is pictured with—an uncharged third party—is, by definition, a patron of a sex operation.

The July 2025 Memo

The core of Lieu’s “torch” involved a direct contradiction of a DOJ memo issued in July 2025. That document stated the department had “uncovered no evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties,” a finding used to justify closing the Epstein case.

“These two photos staring you in the face are evidence of a crime,” Lieu declared, pointing to the images Bondi had just authenticated as containing a victim. “So I ask you, why did you shut down this investigation last July?”

Bondi’s initial response was to deflect, questioning why Lieu had not directed similar scrutiny toward former Attorney General Merrick Garland. Lieu’s rebuttal was instantaneous: “I agree with you. Merrick Garland dropped the ball… but you are in charge. You have the power to change things, and you’re doing the opposite. You’re protecting them.”

“Don’t You Ever Accuse Me of a Crime”

The hearing reached a fever pitch when Lieu introduced a witness statement from the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center. The statement, from a former limo driver, alleged overhearing a violent exchange between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein and detailed a teenager’s account of being assaulted by both men.

When Bondi dismissed the allegations as “ridiculous” and claimed “no evidence” of a crime exists, Lieu moved for the jugular: “I believe you just lied under oath.”

The Attorney General’s reaction was visceral. Leaning into the microphone, her voice rising in volume and fury, she snapped: “Don’t you ever accuse me of a crime.” The outburst, characterized by personal indignation rather than legal citation, brought the room to a standstill. Observers noted that a “clean rebuttal” would have involved evidentiary thresholds or legal standards; instead, the response was that of an official who felt cornered by her own prior admissions.

The 1,000 Victims and the Missing Interviews

The exchange concluded with a staggering statistic: despite over 1,000 recognized sex trafficking victims associated with the Epstein network, the current DOJ has yet to hold a single new associate or patron accountable. Lieu cited the limo driver’s testimony as an example of a lead that was never followed, a witness who was never interviewed, and a case that was closed prematurely.

Attorney Gloria Allred, representing several Epstein victims, echoed Lieu’s concerns outside the hearing room. She characterized the sloppy handling of the files—which in some cases exposed victim names while protecting perpetrators—as “either a sloppy job or at worst a cover-up.”

A Permanent Record

As the video of the “snap” circulates online, the legal implications are beginning to settle. Ted Lieu did not accuse Bondi of the crimes within the files; he accused her of perjury regarding the existence of evidence. By confirming the victim’s status in the photographs, Bondi may have inadvertently provided the very “predicate for investigation” her department claimed did not exist.

The exchange is now a permanent part of the congressional record. With the July 2025 memo standing in direct opposition to the authenticated photographs, the Department of Justice faces a mounting credibility crisis. For the survivors, the “Eiffel Tower of silence” has a new crack in its foundation, and it was carved by the very photographs the DOJ sought to hide.
